About Atlas Junkie: Real Travel, Real People, Real Freedom
For years, I was caught in the 9-to-5 loop. Emails, deadlines, bills. I’d stare at my computer screen, dreaming of faraway beaches, crowded street markets, and the freedom that doesn’t come with a keyboard and office badge. One day, I traded the routine for the unknown. Traded my briefcase for a backpack. And just like that, Atlas Junkie was born.
This isn’t just a travel blog. It’s a living, breathing collection of stories, wild detours, awkward bus rides, and human connections that made me feel alive again.
Whether you’re planning your first solo trip, living the digital nomad life, or just daydreaming from your lunch break this space is yours too.

Budget Travel Without Feeling Broke
You don’t need a fortune to travel you need a plan, courage, and a little help from someone who’s done it. I’ve been to over 60 countries on a backpacker’s budget and lived to tell the tale. My goal? To show you that travel is possible, affordable, and deeply rewarding.
Expect honest tips on:
- Where to stay that won’t break the bank
- What to eat (and avoid)
- Free things to do in epic cities
- The best way to move around cheap and safe
Connection Over Checklist
Sure, I’ve seen the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty. But the moments I remember most? Sharing mate with gauchos in Argentina. Dancing with strangers at a beach bonfire in Mexico. Getting hopelessly lost in a Chilean mountain town and loving every second of it.
This blog is about people first, places second.
The Heart Behind the Blog
I started Atlas Junkie to prove something to myself and to you.
That you don’t have to wait for “the right time.”
That you don’t need to be rich or fearless.
That travel isn’t just for influencers or retirees.
That it can change your life, like it changed mine.
This blog is for:
- The dreamers stuck in routine
- The adventurers craving something real
- The budget travelers tired of generic advice
- The soulful explorers who want more than Instagram filters
And most of all—this is for you, the curious human who knows there’s a bigger world out there, calling.
My Journey So Far (and Yours Too)
🇦🇷 Argentina
From tango nights in Buenos Aires to sipping Malbec in Mendoza’s vineyards, Argentina stole my heart and taught me how to live slow, bold, and full of flavor.
🇨🇱 Chile
North to south, deserts to glaciers, Chile is one long adventure. My favorite moment? Sleeping under the stars in the Atacama, where silence becomes a sound of its own.
🇲🇽 Mexico
Tacos, cenotes, pyramids, and people who make you feel like family. I’ve danced in Oaxaca, surfed in Puerto Escondido, and climbed ancient temples with Mayan elders in Chichén Itzá.
🇧🇷 Brazil
Vibrant chaos wrapped in rhythm. From Rio’s carnival madness to quiet beach towns where time stands still, Brazil is where I learned how to let go and truly be.
🇨🇦 Canada
A cross-country road trip from Toronto to Vancouver showed me that you don’t have to leave the continent to feel small under towering trees and big skies.
🇺🇸 USA
Los Angeles taught me how to live on $10 a day, Las Vegas showed me glitz and grit. Every state has a story and I’m chasing all of them.
